A meeting was recently held between representatives of NSUK and the Vice-Chancellor of Nishtar University, aimed at strengthening collaboration on teaching, training, and clinical care. The Head of Neurosurgery, Prof. Jalal, along with Prof. Naheed Chaudhry and Prof. Bilal Saeed from the Burn Unit, were also present. Earlier, Prof. Khalid Qureshi, Head of General Surgery, had been consulted on the same matters.

During the discussions, it was agreed that a Colorectal Workshop would be conducted in August, followed by a Neurosurgery Workshop in October/November. The current training programs in Plastic Surgery and Burns will continue, while the possibility of expanding these initiatives into other specialties was also explored.

In addition, a comprehensive program of webinars will be shared with Nishtar University’s administration to schedule upcoming events. A separate meeting with the Principal of Nishtar University further reinforced these collaborative efforts.

The NSUK Irish Chapter held a successful meeting in Dublin yesterday, where members were warmly welcomed by the Nishtarians in Ireland. NSUK extends its heartfelt gratitude to them for their generous hospitality.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee made an important and unanimous decision: the Irish Chapter will officially be co-opted with NSUK. To reflect this new identity, the name of the WhatsApp group will be updated from NSUK to NSUKI. This marks a significant milestone for the organization as it expands its reach and strengthens its presence in Ireland.

Additionally, it was agreed that the database of Ireland-based Nishtarians will be shared with NSUKI, and paid members will be added to the NSUKI group to foster better engagement.

A special note of appreciation goes out to Sheikh Sahib and Mukhtar Sahib for their dedicated efforts in making this meeting a success.

Photos from the second Organizing Committee meeting in London, along with attendees from the first meeting, will be shared soon.
